Halak Bhatt Patel, an architect and environment planner by profession, began her career as an Architect in 2005 at Avani Associates where she worked on various residential, commercial, community and industrial architectural projects.

After pursuing Environmental planning in 2009 from CEPT University, she was associated with ITDP, CRDF- CEPT and COE-UT of CEPT University for the span of seven years. During this tenure, she had contributed in pre feasibility studies, planning and designing of sustainable urban transportation infrastructure including NMT and Multimodal integration projects. While her association with GIDR, Gujarat Institute of Development Research, she had worked on process documentation research of Land acquisition, resettlement and rehabilitation activities conducted by GMRCL. She was also involved in documentation of LARR practices for Bangalore and Kochi metro rail projects
